Thigh fat-dissolving injections,
planned area by area

A thigh fat-dissolving injection is a nonsurgical treatment that delivers medication in small doses into the subcutaneous fat of the inner, outer and back of the thigh and above the knee, aiming to reduce the fat layer there. At VEI Clinic we use Melting Cut, and because the thigh covers a wide area, we first check where fat gathers and whether cellulite is present, then plan area by area.

VEI Melting Cut

Thigh fat, what to check before injecting

Start with where the thigh fat gathers

Where thigh fat gathers differs from person to person: the inner thigh, the outer saddlebags, the back just below the buttocks or above the knee. We listen to concerns such as inner thighs rubbing when you walk or trousers feeling tight at the side, then choose the areas.

Fat-dissolving injections do not reduce muscle or treat swelling, so we do not recommend them for muscular thighs or thighs that look larger because of swelling. We first identify the cause at an examination.

When fat and cellulite occur together

The back and outer thigh often show dimpled cellulite along with fat. Reducing subcutaneous fat and improving cellulite are separate matters, so if cellulite concerns you, we may also discuss Endermologie, a mechanical massage that uses suction and rollers.

Evidence on Endermologie for cellulite varies between studies, the effect may be temporary, and cellulite may not improve even after several sessions.

Thigh injections: number of sessions and when change shows

Because the thigh covers a wide area, areas are often split across sessions rather than treated all at once. Changes in circumference usually appear over several weeks rather than right after treatment, and the timing and degree vary from person to person.

How many sessions you need is decided at your consultation based on fat thickness, range and earlier progress. The same dose can produce different results in different people, and there may be no visible change.

Swelling, bruising and getting back to your day

The injected area may swell or bruise and feel stiff when the inner thighs rub as you walk. This usually settles within a few days to one or two weeks but can last longer, and recovery varies with the medication, dose and area.

If you have plans that call for short clothing, leave time for bruising to fade. Contact the clinic right away if a lump or numbness persists.

Why the price of thigh injections varies

The price depends on the range, such as the inner thigh only or including the outer and back of the thigh, as well as fat thickness and the number of sessions needed. Once the range and sessions are set at your consultation, we explain the total cost first, and you can ask about pricing by phone at 02-542-8275 or via KakaoTalk.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many thigh fat-dissolving injection sessions will I need?

Because the area is wide, many people have several sessions. The number is decided at your consultation based on fat thickness, range and progress.

Can the inner thighs and saddlebags be treated together?

They can be planned together, but we sometimes split areas across sessions to account for the total dose. We set the order starting with the area that bothers you most.

Will thigh cellulite go away too?

Reducing subcutaneous fat and improving cellulite are separate matters, so cellulite may not improve even with repeated injections. If cellulite concerns you, we may also discuss Endermologie.

When do thigh fat-dissolving injections start to show results?

Change usually appears over several weeks rather than right after treatment, and the timing and degree vary with the medication, fat thickness and the person. There may be no visible change.
