The Diet Support IV does not make you lose weight. It is a supportive drip that replenishes fluids and nutrients on days when dehydration, nausea or fatigue make it hard to stay on track while you manage your weight with diet and exercise. An internal medicine specialist decides after a consultation whether you need it.

What This IV Does Not Do

It does not burn fat or suppress appetite, and it does not replace diet, exercise or, where needed, medication prescribed at the specialist's discretion. We do not use so-called fat-burning ingredients or additives that lack adequate evidence.

Who It May Suit

People on medication for weight management who have nausea or are eating less
People who are not getting enough fluids after heavy sweating or on hot days
People getting back to their plan after a mild illness such as a stomach bug

What's in the IV

The contents are set individually after your consultation.

A base IV fluid, with electrolytes when needed
B vitamins
Magnesium when suitable
Vitamin C at a standard dose when needed

How a Visit Works

Consultation: your goals, symptoms, medications and vital signs
Explanation and consent: IV contents and what you can expect
IV: given in a private room with regular check-ins
Before you leave: guidance on fluids, returning to meals and your medications

Precautions and Safety

You may have a bruise or soreness at the injection site or a brief chill. Rarely, an allergic reaction or fluid overload can occur, so we monitor you during the IV.

An IV may not be suitable if you have heart failure, advanced kidney disease, significant swelling or uncontrolled high blood pressure
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we discuss other options first
If you have G6PD deficiency, we do not use high-dose vitamin C
Chest pain, severe shortness of breath, confusion, black stools, persistent vomiting or severe abdominal pain need emergency care
