Liver care IV:
not a treatment for liver disease, but fluid and nutrient support
The Liver Support IV is a supportive drip that provides fluids along with nutrients chosen by the specialist. It does not treat liver disease or detoxify the body, and if liver disease is suspected, testing and a medical evaluation come first. The formulation is tailored to you after your consultation.

When a Medical Visit Comes First
The following symptoms call for prompt medical care, not a wellness IV. If any apply, go to an emergency room or see your specialist.
- Yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
- Severe pain in the upper right abdomen
- Confusion or persistent vomiting
- Black or bloody stool
- Fever with chills
- Sudden worsening of known liver disease (abdominal swelling or bleeding)
Precautions and Safety
Please let us know in advance if you have kidney, heart or liver disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, G6PD deficiency (a red blood cell enzyme deficiency) or a history of kidney stones, or if you take prescription medications such as diuretics or anticoagulants.
During the IV you may briefly feel chills or flushing, notice a metallic taste, or get a small bruise at the injection site. If dizziness persists or you have chest pain or trouble breathing, tell us right away.
How a Visit Works
- Check-in and history: symptoms, alcohol and medication use, supplements and allergies
- Exam: vital signs, with simple tests if needed
- Consultation and consent: deciding whether to proceed and what the IV will contain
- IV session: given in a private room with monitoring
- Before you leave: advice on daily care and any tests you need
The VEI Clinic Approach
An internal medicine specialist with subspecialty certification in gastrointestinal endoscopy sees you in person, and if tests such as liver function tests are needed, we will advise you on testing and referral. All IVs are given in private rooms. Results can differ from person to person, and the specialist decides whether it is suitable for you after your consultation.
After the IV, we recommend drinking plenty of water for the rest of the day and eating light meals centered on lean protein and vegetables. Avoid alcohol while you recover, and if you were advised to get tests, have them done as scheduled.

Frequently asked questions
Does it detox the liver?
No IV can replace the liver's own detox function. We focus on hydration and supportive care, and if treatment or tests are needed, we will let you know.
Do you treat fatty liver or hepatitis with IVs?
No. Liver disease needs a medical evaluation, monitoring and appropriate treatment. If needed, we will advise you on testing and referral.
Can I have it after heavy drinking?
Yes, if it is judged safe after your consultation. Severe symptoms such as confusion, vomiting blood, chest pain or fainting call for emergency care first.
How quickly will I feel different?
Many people feel steadier within a few hours to a day as they rehydrate, but this varies with sleep, meals, alcohol, medications and baseline health.
