How Exosomes Are Used

In Korea, exosome products are classified as cosmetics and are applied to the skin according to the labeled use and directions. They are not injectable drugs, and the ingredients differ from product to product.

They are often used as part of calming care after procedures such as laser treatment. Skin regeneration or treatment effects have not been established, so we explain the ingredients and precautions before deciding whether to use one.

Types of Skin Boosters

Each product has its own ingredients and approved purpose, so the type alone does not predict the same result. We explain the options available at our clinic after assessing your skin.

Hyaluronic acid boosters (water-glow injections): used to add hydration within the skin
Salmon DNA-derived ingredients (PN, PDRN): used for skin texture care
Collagen-stimulating ingredients (such as PDLLA): used for skin volume and firmness care
Exosomes: cosmetics applied for calming care after procedures

Pore and Skin Texture Care

If you have enlarged pores and rough skin texture, you can discuss a pore peel (Cerafill) or skin botox alongside a skin booster. We plan treatments with recovery time between them rather than doing several at once.

Precautions and Safety

Redness, stinging and small scabs may occur for a few days after microneedling or laser treatment. We postpone treatment in areas with active acne, cold sores (herpes) or a skin infection.

Please tell us in advance if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, prone to keloids or have recently taken oral acne medication.

Aftercare

Wash your face gently on the treatment day and wait until the next day to apply makeup
Avoid saunas, strenuous exercise and alcohol for a few days
Apply plenty of moisturizer and be sure to use sunscreen
Wait until your skin has settled before resuming exfoliating or retinol products

How many skin booster sessions will I need?

Depending on the ingredients, several sessions are often given 2 to 4 weeks apart. We decide on the number based on your skin.

Are exosomes and stem cell procedures the same?

No. Exosome products are cosmetics applied to the skin, while the VEI Cell stem cell programs are separate procedures. You can find their process and precautions in those guides.

Can I apply makeup right after treatment?

If you also had microneedling or laser treatment, we recommend avoiding makeup that day and starting again the next day.
